Bay Window Bus For Sale.....

I have a 1978 VW bus which I'm currently looking to trade for a four cylinder vehicle. Prefer Toyota. The bus was my daily driver up until last year when I needed to do some exhaust work to it. I am in the process of finishing the work. The Brakes need some work. The engine is strong, however, it has a weber carburetor that requires you to do some adaptive driving/starting on hills. I do have another set of carburetors that can be rebuilt for it. Anyways. The bus has been my baby for some time and I hate to part with it. But I need a dependable pickup truck for my upcoming job and my current car is a POS. Please e-mail me with any questions. More info...... I bought the Bus in South Carolina early 2004. The guy that had it before was a novice. But he was making some good strides. There are a few rust spots on the doglegs and a patch on the roof where the paint is peeling. There are a few pounds of bondo spread all over. The paint job is pretty good for a home garage job. I have no complaints. The seats are good in the back - and original. The Front seats are re-upholstered, but not original to the vehicle. There are no heater boxes. It's more of a Summer driver, unless you want to add everything back in. The original exhaust was custom made and has since fallen off. So, I'm putting a factory exhaust on the bus, but need to make some modifications / add ons so that future repairs will be easier. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and is very strong. The Weber carb is great for higher speed driving but you have to give it a little extra shot of gas before doing hill starts. The entire bus was coated with an anti-rust / under / overcoating. Nice rust proofing, but there is a lot of black. I have a ton of fabric to redo the Seats and to make a headliner (there isn't one now) The electric is good, had to reinvent the starter, the previous owner bypassed the switch on the steering column. The brakes just need to be tweaked with new pads - bleeding etc..... The tranny is good - no slips or pops. Needs a slight adjustment to let it slide into 2nd gear a little better. I recently changed out the Gear oil and it was very clean. I took the engine out about 2 years ago and replaced the clutch and a few seals here and there on the engine. I installed the stereo when I first go the bus. After market. Sounds real good. 6x9 speakers in the doors and 6x9's in the back speaker boxes with an 8in tube sub. All in all it's been a great bus. I love it. But, I need a different daily driver and will eventually save up to buy another bus in the future
